It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas No. 7–Winter Wonderland Photo Gift Tags

This is the seventh post in my It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas series. I hope you’ll follow along for the next 18! There’s a whole lot of Christmas cheer coming your way between now and the 25th!

I’ve been busy shopping for Christmas gifts and brainstorming how I want to wrap them this year.  I originally planned to wrap everything in newspaper, but I’m thinking it’s probably not the best idea.  I wrapped one gift, and had newsprint all over my hands and the gift.  They …

The Pinterest Challenge–Coin Magnets

Let me be clear – I use the word challenge very, very loosely when talking about this project.  This will quite possibly be the easiest and laziest entry of all of the Pinterest Challenge entries.  While you all were off creating amazingly creative and cool stuff, I was hot gluing pennies to magnets.  Yep, I made coin magnets.{pinned here.  original source here.}
I mentioned before that a giant chalkboard (8’ long) will be calling our entry way home (as soon as we get our butts around to moving it in from …

On The Bandwagon: Crayon Art

Are you looking for a fun way to kill a couple of  hours?  Who isn’t?  In case you are, I highly recommend grabbing a few crayons, a cheap canvas and a hairdryer.  I’m jumped on the crayon art bandwagon this past weekend and I couldn’t believe how much fun it was to melt and re melt wax, over and over again.  It was oddly therapeutic and I was surprised by how pretty my canvas looked when I was done. All you  have to do is heat a chunk of crayon (hold …

Accidental Art?

A few months ago I bought a 24” x 48” canvas at Michaels because I had a 50% off coupon.  I think it ended up costing me about fifteen bucks – not bad.  Of course even as I was buying it I was thinking that not just anybody should be allowed to buy canvas and art supplies.  I figured there was an incredibly good chance that it would end up ruined.    I was completely at a loss for what I would do with it or how I would do it.  …

D.I.Y. A.R.T.

Easiest. Canvas. Art. Ever.  Seriously.  Ok, it’s a bit messy but that was part of the fun!  I just globed on my paint and sprayed it with a water bottle.  Then I globed on some more.  I continued globing and spraying until I was happy with what I saw.  These colours are a little bit bolder than I would normally chose and the style is a bit more modern.  But it’s a nice change for summer.  I can see this eventually living in a guest room – you know if …

Ebony & Ivory Pebble Frames

For days I was all over the place thinking of what I  should do in the second frame I spruced up here.  When I realized, I should just keep things simple and create another pebble arrangement.  Why not? The pebbles are free,  they look cute and they fit with the vision I have for my entry way.  Of course I wanted it to be a little bit more interesting than a repeat so I scoured my collection for the greyish black rocks (and when I say collection, I mean the …

Before & After Picture Frames

This weekend, we focused on clearing the basement and sheds of renovation debris, old carpets, and junk left behind by the previous owners.  I stumbled upon a few picture frames that could have easily been tossed in the bin but decided they had some potential.  I guess I’m the only one who thinks so because the “$6.00 for the  pair” sticker suggest that they were left over from a yard sale.  What did they expect?  If I saw these at a yard sale I’d pay a buck each.  Tops.Kind of …

A Quick & Cheap Soap Pump Upgrade

Of course if a project is considered quick and cheap you can almost guarantee spray paint is involved.  I hated my soap pumps so I decided to give them a quick coat of spray paint to make the fit in to the kitchen a little better.
Not exactly a major transformation but they at least have a little bit of personality now.  I’m thinking of adding some stripes or chevrons.  We’ll see.

I linked up!

A Single Easter Decoration

I love Christmas.  I really do.  And even though we don’t have kids I like to get in the spirit, go overboard on decorations and watch Christmas themed movies beginning in September.  I don’t feel that way about any other holiday.  In case you didn’t notice – I didn’t put a single decoration up for St. Patty’s day.  Nor did I mention it on here once.  In fact, I had to send my sister at text to find out if it was St. Patty’s day – it was.  The only …

From Gold To ORB. Upgraded Milk Glass.

Remember that sweet milk glass bell I picked up from my local thrift store for two bucks?  The one with the awful and cheap looking  gold handle?  Well, as I said I would, I ORB’d the handle.  I have to say, I think it’s looking a bit better.  In case you don’t remember what it looked like before, here is a refresher. And here she is after a few light coats of spray paint.  I let a bit of the gold show through here and there to make it look a …
