In The Meantime Kitchen
I’ve finally moved from the mudroom (still no decision on what to do with the floor) in to the kitchen. I’ve only painted a first coat on one wall but I can already see that a darker wall colour is what this room needed. Well it’s one of many things this room needs. I’m hoping to get started on the rest of the walls this week. The to-do list doesn’t stop at the walls. I want to give the cabinets a fresh coat of paint, spruce up and move the hardware, finish a furniture piece to place under that awkward row of uppers (pictured below), switch out the light fixtures, and maybe, just maybe upgrade the counter top to a solid colour laminate to hold us over until we’re ready to start our real kitchen renovation. I’m still in the negotiation stage with my other half on that last item. I’ll keep you posted. In the meantime though, check out my first wall. Here it is before…And here it is with one coat of paint. When the sun goes down before you get off work it’s difficult to get good pictures. I promise I’ll try to grab a few in natural light as soon as I get a chance. I know you get the idea though. And maybe I’m looking through
rose utterly beige coloured glasses, but the cabinets don’t even look as bad to me as they did hanging on that light “grellow” wall.
