Spring Has Sprung

21 March 2012 6 Comments

And it had me inspired this weekend to add a pop of colour to my coffee station. I felt like the coffee maker side with the cups and spoons needed something.  A little touch of style.  A little something special.  So of course when Bauer pranced up the yard with a sweet plastic rose in his mouth I immediately thought “hey – I can spray paint that”.  And thankfully the previous owners of the house left behind a whole collection of spray paints.  In it, I found the perfect red to pull my beautiful spring spoons on to the other side of the vignette.  So yes, you read that right.  This little addition was 100% free.  As long as you have random stuff in your yard and a stash of paints bought by someone else you can basically make anything for free.  Hopefully you don’t have random stuff in your yard because although this flower was cute, most of what we have out there is not.  Here is a picture of the rose before, all dirty and outdoors like. I think you need your soil checked if you’re growing plastic flowers out there ;)

I’ve never heard of finding good junk in the yard, usually just bottles and tires (I am from the almost south after all).

It looks GREAT! It adds the perfect pop of color to the other side.
