She’s Moo-liscious – Another Thrift Store Find

27 March 2012 10 Comments

Meet the newest member of our family. I haven’t named her yet, but I’m head over heels for this little ceramic cow.  I picked her up at Value Village (my local thrift store) yesterday and I’m loving the touch of whimsy she adds to my vignette.  In case you’re wondering why I only ever show styled pictures of the kitchen – it’s because the rest of the house is a complete disaster.  It’s difficult to style a room that still has boxes piled upon exposed subfloor with a back drop of damaged drywall.  So for now, I’ll keep here right where I can see her – next to the coffee maker.  Now like most of the stuff you find while thrifting, she needed a little bit of attention.  And at $3.99, I probably overpaid.  She was a bit dirty and had a few little chips and wear spots here and there.  But isn’t she just the cutest thing.  Check here out before her makeover.  Price tag attached and all.March 2012 108March 2012 116March 2012 117After a little bit of scrubbing with hot water and dish soap I grabbed my black paint pen and got to touching up her spots.  This pen was perfect for this project.  If you don’t have one of these I highly recommend them for touch up and/or text projects.March 2012 123March 2012 142March 2012 133March 2012 146Good as new.  Doesn’t she look cute?  I bought a few other items while I was thrifting yesterday.  In fact,  I think they will be start of a collection for me.  I’ll share them later on this week.  And in case you were expecting a progress update on the wallpaper stripping in the entry way, all I can say is it’s not done.  Not even close.  What did you get up to this weekend?Any new additions to your family?diana

    So cute!

I used to be obsessed with cows. Now my tastes change so I have a zoo.

Growing up having a dairy farm in the family, I have such a soft spot for cows! She is looking so purty in her new home! :)
