From Gold To ORB. Upgraded Milk Glass.

3 April 2012 7 Comments

Remember that sweet milk glass bell I picked up from my local thrift store for two bucks?  The one with the awful and cheap looking  gold handle?  Well, as I said I would, I ORB’d the handle.  I have to say, I think it’s looking a bit better.  In case you don’t remember what it looked like before, here is a refresher.March 2012 102And here she is after a few light coats of spray paint.  I let a bit of the gold show through here and there to make it look a little more authentic and a little less plastic.  Did my plan work?April 2012 018April 2012 019April 2012 015You’ll notice that my milk glass collection has grown a bit since the last time I showed you.  I’ll be back later with the details on that and my latest thrift store furniture acquisitions.diana

It totally worked! I’m not sure I would have thought of that, but it’s a really good idea. ~logs into memory bank~

So cute. I’m jealous you can find all that milk glass at such great prices! Maybe I need to look harder haha :)

It looks great! I love milk glass and I’m jealous of your collection. I actually went to an antique (I thought it was thrift until I got there) store this past weekend and saw a few pieces but alas they were much too expensive. Can’t wait until you share what you got!

Hey Ladies! I haven’t actually been looking that hard for Milk Glass. I’ve gone “thrifting” twice and have found something each time. The prices at my Value Village are usually between 2 and 5 bucks – depending on the shape etc. I have noticed that antique places charge MUCH more for Milk Glass. Making my finds even sweeter.

That ORB really pops against the milk glass. I wouldn’t have thought to spray it, but it looks wonderful! Great job!
