House Tour: Main Bathroom #2

31 May 2012 11 Comments

I know the mention of having seven bathrooms in my Main Bath #1 post piqued interest from some of  you.  And I listened to you asking to see more of this big bungalow, it just takes me a while to get my butt in gear sometimes.  Better late than never right?  Here is a quick tour of the main bath on the south side of the house.  It’s old, it’s ugly, it’s pretty small and it obviously needs to go.  So far all I have done is clean it.  The boy uses it as his bathroom for now.  So this bath, plus the one I showed you here are the two bathrooms we are currently using.  So far I guess you’ve seen three of our seven bathrooms – Main Bath #1, Main Bath # 2 and the Master Ensuite.  That leaves 4 more.  I can do math.  Take a look at this hot mess.  These pictures were taken when we first moved in.  Would it have killed me to put the toilet seat down?  Let’s be honest.  I wasn’t touching that until I had basically drowned the entire room in bleach.November 2011 535November 2011 534Like I said though,  it doesn’t look much different today.  Although I find the tub much less offensive than I did.  If it was deeper I would say we should keep it and design a retro bathroom around it.  However, it’s the smallest, shallowest tub you’ve ever seen.  It’s insane how small tubs used to be!  Stay tuned – we have a vanity with a purple sink I know you can’t wait to see!diana

I’m with Melanie! I think you could totally go for a modern-retro look!

I didn’t know they made green tubs and purple sinks… It’s crazy some of the color schemes people have done in the past. Our bathroom had pink tile and mint green paint at one point in time…

Other than the tub it doesn’t look too bad! Maybe the olive green tub and purple sink were on clearance ;)

It could totally be worse. The tub is kind of charming. But the vanity has been painted a terrible brown colour. I could paint it and make it work for the time being. I will have to wait and see how far I get on the rest of the hosue before I make any decisions in that regard.

Wow! What a tub! We used to have this bright red sink in our kitchen when I was little that came with the house and it was ridiculous.

Thanks for sharing! I still can’t believe you have seven bathrooms!!!

Our upstairs bathroom is a green disaster! Luckily we never go up there, so the renovation is getting pushed to the backburner. The rest of the bathroom looks okay, though!
