We finally showed the wall above the stairs who’s boss!  The wallpaper glue on the two walls that meet behind the stairs has been particularly difficult to remove.  I don’t know if a different person installed it (Mike Holmes style), or if the sun shining on the other walls broke the glue down over time but either way, we’ve basically had to strip the wall off to get rid of the glue behind the stairs.  So that means a little bit of patch work will be necessary before we can do any painting above the stairs.  Thankfully, I really enjoy patching and sanding.  Take a peek at what we’re currently working with.Not exactly a total transformation, but every little bit of progress has me smiling these days.  It just feels good to see things moving forward.  I can’t wait to get rid of that light fixture.  And in case you didn’t notice, the casing around the front door is now white!  Along with a few other trim pieces.Don’t act like you aren’t jealous of our sweet ghetto blaster.  I rocked Alanis in her Jagged Little Pill days on that this past weekend – on disc!  Talk about a true tribute to the 90’s!  Oh the nostalgia.  Moving on.  We are primed to get some work done this weekend.  Here is what I hope to accomplish. 

• Remove the rest of the glue on the front wall.
• Thoroughly wash the walls behind the stair case.
• Scrape the last stubborn paper bits off of the floor.
• Paint the walls behind the stairs as well as the two walls going in to the basement.
• Install coat hooks in closet.
• Prime the floor.
