Eye Candy: Giant Chalkboards

7 October 2012 5 Comments

Chalkboards are every where.  That’s not news to anyone.  And although I know some people are growing sick of this trend I’m still loving it.  But I’m not talking about average chalkboards here.  I’m talking about chalkboards: supersized.  I can’t get enough of massive chalkboards.  Giant, wall consuming, doodle collecting, art displaying chalkboards.  And they seem to work in almost any décor situation – industrial, contemporary,  elegant, rustic…dining rooms, living rooms, kitchens, studios, wherever.Chalk Board 2Chalk Board 1Chalk Board CottageChalk Board 3Chalk Board Dining Room{click images for sources}
What do you think?  Are you over the chalkboard trend?  Do you like them better bigger or smaller?  Do they look messy to you?  Or are you digging that casual, lived in vibe they bring to a room?  Let’s chat about it.diana

    I think they look good, but I’m not really into chalkboards. Every time I see them I think about nails on a chalkboard and I get the heeby jeebies. Plus the chalk dust gets everywhere!

    You’re absolutely right about the dust issue Ashley!

    I loved seeing the giant chalkboards in all different styles! Personally, I haven’t caught onto the trend, but I do love how they look in certain situations…aka Emily’s from Go Haus Go is awesome! I mean, she even received a marriage proposal on it!

    Hey Gabbi! I just popped over to check out the board you’re talking about! Gorgeous! And what a sweet way to pop the question!

    Those are some massive chalkboards, lol. They look great, but i definitely don’t have a wall big enough to do it in our house…maybe we have room for a mini one!
