Decorating For “Winter”
I don’t usually start putting up Christmas decorations until December 1st. Not because I don’t want to. I guess some people around here think that decorating in November is overkill. Whatever. If I had my way, the halls would be completely decked already. But I try to be cooperative. And by cooperative I mean, I look for clever ways to subtly break the “rules”. I’ve started decorating for winter. Not Christmas, winter. Our front entry table got a seasonal transformation this weekend.![]()

It’s just enough to satisfy my desire to cozy up the house. I’ve refrained from adding any red. I figure, keeping the decorations white or clear makes it a little more winter and a little less Christmas? Am I right? Or am I delusional? What about you guys? Do you wait until December to decorate? Or are your stockings hung by the chimney with care the day after Halloween?

Omg, I love it! Come to my house next and decorate and style things for me. Please and thank you.
Absolutely Kate! I’ll be right over!

You are a genius and this is gorgeous! I usually wait till the day after Thanksgiving to start my Christmas decorating. (I live with a grinch)
Hey Amy! I would probably wait until after Thanksgiving too if I lived in the US.

How amazing is this entry-way?! You are totally on the winter decor track, it doesn’t look too christmassy at all to me! And everytime I look at your entryway, I get periodic table jealousy again and again!
Love love love! This is picture-perfect winter decor. You can totally keep it up long after Christmas!!
I like that…winter decorating! I’m well behind the times. I should have my home already decorated by now. That’s on tap this weekend
Hey Lyndsay, I got the table at Home Sense which I’m pretty sure is the same company as Home Goods in the US. Correct me if I’m wrong. It was $39.99 and I found it in the back of the store with the outdoor decorations (probably because it’s metal). Anyway, maybe you could find one!
Hey Gabbi! I usually take my Christmas stuff down on January 1st but you’re right this could stay up long after that! I might have to leave it up until spring. It is rather pretty!
Hi Antonella, Oh my gosh, you’re not behind the times! It’s only the 14th of November! But I’m excited to see what you get accomplished this weekend! Buy some eggnog and watch a Christmas movie while you decorate!

Ooo, I love the black and white palette – so modern!
Hey Tanya! Thank You! My house is becoming a very strange mix of modern – vintage – industrial – rustic….It seems to be working so far. Or maybe I just think it’s working!?

I ADORE your entryway so far!! The styling and mix of finishes and elements is gorgeous!! Please come do my house now! haha.
Hey Christine! Thank you so much! As soon as I finish Kate’s I’ll swing by and do yours! You guys are too nice!

I like!! It looks so cozy. We are starting to put our stuff up this Sunday. We won’t fully decorate until after our Thanksgiving.
Thanks Michelle! I like it too! I won’t put my tree up until after December 1st.

That all looks AMAZING! I need your decorating skills.
That looks awesome! Definitely more “winter” vs “Christmas.” Well done! I want to go decorate now! I hope I can find some time to decorate this weekend =)
Way to sneak it in there!
I actually got Jesse to agree to letting me start decorating this weekend!

The entire area is so pretty! I do love your winter touches, Diana. I’m including a link back in my highlights.
Thanks so much for sharing!
