It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas No.1 – Christmas Morning Table

26 November 2012 29 Comments

I’m so excited to kick of my, It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas series today!  It falls purposely in line with the Dare To DIY Challenge being hosted by Décor And The Dog, Maybe Matilda, Newly Woodwards and Two Twenty One.  Today’s “dare” is to entertain.  So that is exactly what I did this weekend.  Well, I didn’t actually entertain, I set a table like I might set one for breakfast on Christmas morning.

I figure, Christmas morning is the only day we can get away with having candy at the breakfast table.  Unless of course you are out of the movie ELF.  I kept my setting pretty simple.  White dishes and table cloth, my black damask table runner/napkins, candy canes, candy cane kisses, peppermint candies, the branch arrangement I styled for my “winter” vignette (with a few red ornaments)  and one roll of ribbon from the dollar store is all I used.

First I laid a white linen table cloth, a few strips of ribbon, tucked just under the edges of the runner and one running length wise on the table.  I layered two white trays and the branch arrangement along the length wise ribbon.  Next I set my place settings each with a napkin and candy cane in the cup.  Then I added everything required for a French Toast breakfast – butter, maple syrup, icing sugar, cinnamon – and candy?  Why not.  It’s Christmas Morning!  I specifically chose only candies that matched my traditional Christmas theme.  I really wanted sour keys but they didn’t match – sacrifices.  Christmas Table 1 WMChristmas Table 2 WMChristmas Table 4 WM Christmas Table 7 WMChristmas Table 6 WMChristmas Table 5 WMChristmas Table 3 WMChristmas Table 8 WM Did any of you host a fake breakfast or dinner party this weekend?  Or maybe you hosted a real one?  Are you linking up to the Dare to DIY Challenge?  I hope to see you there!

What a beautiful fake Christmas morning layout! I’m loving the red and white and black … and isn’t candy a part of every breakfast? Seriously, aren’t Fruit Loops and Pop-Tarts just one small step away from candy?
