It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas No. 7–Winter Wonderland Photo Gift Tags

8 December 2012 10 Comments

This is the seventh post in my It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas series. I hope you’ll follow along for the next 18! There’s a whole lot of Christmas cheer coming your way between now and the 25th!

I’ve been busy shopping for Christmas gifts and brainstorming how I want to wrap them this year.  I originally planned to wrap everything in newspaper, but I’m thinking it’s probably not the best idea.  I wrapped one gift, and had newsprint all over my hands and the gift.  They don’t show you that part on Pinterest.Last year I made photo gift tags for everyone.  Because they were such a hit I plan on doing them again.  This year I am using snow themed photos printed in black and white.  Check them out.Black & White Picnic Table MOM Black & White Branch Laura Black & White Tree DAD
Of course I will be sure to post some pictures once these tags are actually attached to gifts.  Have you decided how your gifts will be wrapped this year?  Have you ever given newspaper a try?  Have I given up too soon?diana

I love them! Photography is a great idea, and the scenes are just beautiful. I just posted my theme tonight: simple green and red paper, twine, and handmade gift tags. http://www.the-comfortable-home.blogspot.ca/2012/12/simple-gift-wrapping.html.

These are beautiful! A few years back I vowed to only use recyclable wrapping for all my gifts. I did use newspaper for a few (I tried to use the colour comics when possible since they don’t really smudge the same way- it added a nice bit of fun and colour to them as well). I also used reusable bags from the grocery store so that they could be reused. I hate that wrapping paper goes in the garbage- so wasteful!! I want to try using kraft paper one of these years. That should still be recyclable that way.

You’re absolutely right Christine! Wrapping paper is such a waste. Perhaps I’ve given up on the newspaper idea too soon. I’ve been saving them for months!

Newspaper is oh-so-messy. Cute in theory, not so cute in practice. I have this gold-ish paper that I want to use under the tree this year. We aren’t really getting too many gifts, so I don’t have to put too much thought into things this year. We are on a tight budget! ;)

    PS-those tags are gorgeous!

Hey Gabbi! Thanks you! And you’re right! Newspaper really is a mess! I might just try to find a plain white, red or black paper to go with the photo tags.
