It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas No. 13–Gift Card Ornaments
I’m so glad you popped in on us for our 13th, It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas post. This is a 25 post series about all things Merry & Bright. Although, truth be told, I may only fit in 20 posts (or maybe 15 haha) before the 25th. December flew by didn’t it?
I always feel a little bit guilty when I give a gift card. Not because it isn’t a great gift, (personally I love receiving gift cards) but because I feel like they don’t present as well as a beautifully wrapped gift. So, this year I decided to up the gift card wrapping ante and made them in to ornaments. For the first one I used a tiny envelope I had laying around. It perfectly fit the card. I wrapped some fabric ribbon around it and attached it to a snowflake ornament with a dab of hot glue.
For the second card I made an envelope out of a scrap of wrapping paper, added a sparkle ribbon and attached to another snowflake ornament.
This really couldn’t be easier and to me they feel just a little bit more special. Wouldn’t you be happy to see these hanging on the tree on Christmas morning? I sure would!
I’m almost done all of my wrapping now. I have gotten a few requests for a tutorial for the flowers I showed you here. And of course I also have to share my Christmas Tree – how have I not done that? It’s been up since November! I’ll be back tomorrow to share! How is your holiday prep going? Can you believe Christmas is less than a week away?

Cute idea! I always feel guilty giving a gift card too! Not sure why though- I love getting them! I gave my brother a gift card bouquet last year as a present and blogged about it. It was gift cards on flower store card spikes along with skewers of candies all in a glass vase. He quite enjoyed it!
I absolutely love getting a gift card (if it’s to some place I like haha)…and so I love-love how you dressed these up to make them feel more special! As usual, so creative!
